1. Who we are and what this covers
This notice is from One Earth Rising P.B.C. ("OER", "we", "us"), a Public Benefit Corporation based in New York, at 6 St Johns Ln, New York, NY 10013. It explains what personal data we collect and how we use it when you use our products and services, including S.A.G.E. and the OGA platform, and our websites.
It covers: (a) players and other people who use S.A.G.E.; (b) studios and the people who use studio accounts; (c) Knowledge Keepers; and (d) visitors to oneearthrising.com. Knowledge Keepers are also covered by the Knowledge Keeper Agreement, studios by the S.A.G.E. Studio Terms, and our handling of ingested web content by the S.A.G.E. Knowledge Ingestion Policy.
We operate from the United States and process data in the United States.
2. What we collect
From players. Your email address and whatever you add to your profile (display name, avatar, bio, favorite games and platforms). Most profile fields are optional, and you control what other players see through your privacy toggles in the app. We ask for your date of birth (see section 9). We also collect the questions you ask S.A.G.E. and its answers, the game, platform and skill level you set, whether your question was resolved, points, badges and rank, which games you mark as owned, played or wishlisted, and signals of what you intend to play. We do not log your IP address with your questions.
From studios. Your name, work email, studio or company name, role, website, and messages you send us, including Enterprise and LEVEL UP inquiries. When you claim a Title we collect the evidence you give us that you own or represent it, and the codes or keys you upload. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details and billing address. We receive your Stripe customer ID, plan, subscription status, and billing email. We do not receive or store your full card number. We also keep a record of which version of the Studio Terms you accepted, who accepted, and when.
From Knowledge Keepers. The content you submit, your account details, and the payout details needed to pay you through our payment processor, Oncade. We do not store your full card or bank details.
From website visitors. Basic technical data such as browser type, device, pages viewed, and referring page, collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 10). When you submit an inquiry form or a removal request, we store a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address to limit abuse. We cannot turn it back into your address.
From removal and opt-out requests. The details you put in the form: your name, email, organization, link, the type of request, your relationship to the content, and your message. We keep these as a record of the request and our response.
From other sources. Public web documentation we ingest under our Knowledge Ingestion Policy, which excludes material containing personal data.
3. How we use it
- To run, secure, support, and improve S.A.G.E., OGA, and the studio service, including answering your questions and personalizing answers to your platform and skill level.
- To send confirmations and service messages, process studio subscriptions through Stripe, and pay Knowledge Keepers through Oncade.
- To train and improve our models. We use player questions, answers, and interaction data to train, fine-tune, and improve OER's own models, indexes, and retrieval systems, and to create aggregated, de-identified insights. You can ask us to delete your data (section 8). The retrieval-only separation in our Knowledge Ingestion Policy applies to ingested web content, and not to player interaction data.
- To find gaps in what S.A.G.E. knows. Aggregated, de-identified patterns in what players ask tell Knowledge Keepers and studios what to cover next.
- To recommend things you may like. What you ask about, which games you play, and how you engage build a picture of your interests. We use it to recommend similar games, surface partnerships, and tell you about OGAs that may interest you. You can opt out (section 8).
- To produce analytics for studios about their own Titles. Studios receive aggregated or cohort-level results only. We never give a studio information that identifies an individual player, and we do not show a segment too small to be anonymous.
- To contact players inside a Side Quest or Campaign, only through S.A.G.E., only with the player's consent, and only when the studio's program calls for it.
- To detect abuse, enforce our terms and conduct rules, handle removal requests, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information.
4. What studios and Keepers see
Studios see aggregated results for their own Titles, for example which questions players ask, which languages and platforms they use, and what they say they intend to do. Studios cannot identify, contact, or track individual players through S.A.G.E. Enterprise studios can have their data excluded from shared benchmarks and from model training, as set out in their order form.
When S.A.G.E. cites a Keeper's content to answer a question, the Keeper is paid for the citation and never sees who asked.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the service, under contract, and only as needed for that purpose:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google (Vertex AI and Gemini) | Processes your question to generate an answer; analytics tag management |
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and file storage |
| Stripe | Studio subscription payments and billing |
| Oncade | Payments to Knowledge Keepers |
| Netlify | Website hosting |
| Mailtrap | Sending service and confirmation emails |
| Slack | Internal alerts to our team |
| n8n | Workflow automation |
Advertising. We plan an ad-supported free tier. It is not live. Nothing is shared with an advertising partner today. Before it launches we will name the partner here, explain what it can see, and let you opt out of ad targeting based on your interest profile.
We may disclose data when the law requires it, to protect people or our service, or in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this notice continues to apply to your data until you are told otherwise.
6. Removal and opt-out requests
Anyone can ask us to remove web content from S.A.G.E., Knowledge Keeper content, studio content or an account, or personal data, using the removal and opt-out form. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and act within 7 business days. The form covers our web-ingestion practices (see the Knowledge Ingestion Policy) as well as player, Keeper, and studio data.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Player questions and answers are kept in a form linked to your account for up to 24 months. After that we remove everything that identifies you (your account, email, and profile link) and may keep the remaining text, which no longer identifies anyone, to improve S.A.G.E. and our models. Your interest profile (genres, platforms, and engagement patterns, not your raw questions) is kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile and interest profile, and remove the link between your account and your questions and answers, within 90 days. De-identified data, and models already trained on it, are not retrained or unbuilt when you delete your account. Studio account and billing records last as long as the account and as long as the law requires. Raw source content fetched for ingestion is discarded within 30 days. Records of removal requests are kept as proof of our response. Copies in routine backups are purged in the ordinary backup cycle.
8. Your choices and rights
You can see, correct, or delete your account information in your profile settings, or ask us to do it. Email legal@oneearthrising.com from the address on your account. We respond within 45 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to know, delete, correct, and not be treated differently for using these rights. If we refuse a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer.
You can opt out of interest-based recommendations, and of any future ad targeting, without losing access to S.A.G.E. This does not switch off aggregated gap-detection, which is not tied to your identity. To stop service emails, use the unsubscribe link or write to us.
9. Age requirements
S.A.G.E. is not directed to children under 13, and studios may not target children under 13 with Side Quests or Campaigns. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, and we close accounts we learn belong to one. We do not use interest profiling or marketing for anyone under 13.
Some features have their own minimum ages. You must be at least 16 to message other players. You must be an adult (18, or the age of majority where you live) to buy anything. Mature game content is off by default and unlocks only when you confirm you are 17 or older. Interest-based recommendations and marketing do not apply to anyone under 13, and we apply extra care to players under 18.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to load analytics and measurement tags on our websites. These use cookies and similar technologies to count visits and understand how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. S.A.G.E. and the studio service still work without analytics cookies.
11. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical, physical, and organizational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption in transit, and limits on who on our team can see data. No system is perfectly secure. If we confirm a breach that affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay and as the law requires.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice. If a change is material, we will post the new version here, change the date above, and notify active players and, for studios, the billing contact by email.
